FRP molded grating, also known as glass fiber reinforced plastic molded grating, has the following advantages over steel grating:
Strong corrosion resistance:
FRP molded grating is composed of glass fiber and resin. It has excellent corrosion resistance to many
gas and liquid media such as acid, alkali, organic solvents and salts. In corrosive environments such as
chemical, electroplating, and sewage treatment, there is no need to worry about rust and corrosion, and
the performance can be kept stable for a long time. Steel grating is generally made of carbon steel. Even
after anti-corrosion treatment such as hot-dip galvanizing, it may still rust when exposed to a strong
corrosive environment for a long time, affecting its service life.

Light weight and high strength:
The specific gravity of FRP molded grating is generally around 1.8, which is only 1/4 of steel, but its
strength is 10 times that of rigid polyvinyl chloride, and its absolute strength exceeds that of aluminum
and ordinary steel. This makes it more convenient during transportation and installation, which can greatly
reduce the foundation support, reduce the material cost and construction difficulty of the project. In contrast,
steel grating is heavy, and large-scale mechanical equipment is required for transportation and installation,
which increases the construction cost and difficulty.
Good electrical insulation:
FRP molded grating has excellent electrical insulation, no breakdown phenomenon under 10KV voltage,
and no electromagnetic properties. Therefore, it can be used for special occasions such as magnetically
sensitive equipment and live operations, such as electronics factories, substations, etc., which can effectively
avoid the risk of electric shock and electromagnetic interference. Steel grating is made of metal and is conductive.
When used in electrical environments, additional insulation measures are required.
Good fatigue resistance:
The fatigue resistance of FRP molded grating is about 50 times that of steel. Under long-term dynamic loads,
FRP molded grating is less likely to suffer damage such as fatigue cracks, and can maintain good performance.

Good fire retardancy: The flame propagation rate of ordinary flame-retardant FRP molded grating does not exceed 25,
the flame propagation rate of advanced flame-retardant vinyl grating does not exceed 10, and the oxygen index is
not less than 28. In the event of a fire, it can delay the spread of flames, buy time for personnel evacuation and fire rescue,
and improve the safety of the place of use. Although the steel grating itself does not burn, it is easy to deform at high temperatures, which will affect the structural stability.
High design flexibility:
The size, color, shape, etc. of the FRP molded grating can be customized according to customer needs, which
can meet the requirements of different architectural styles and usage scenarios and has good decorative properties.
The structure and material formula of the grating can also be flexibly adjusted according to specific load-bearing and
usage requirements. The design flexibility of steel grating is relatively poor, and the appearance and size are usually relatively fixed.
Excellent anti-slip performance: FRP molded grating usually has a unique anti-slip texture design and high surface friction.

environment is usually about 15 years, and the service life will be shorter in harsh environment.
